Webarchitects tries to balance hardware and energy resources in order to deliver services in the greenest way we can.
Webarchitects use and re-use hardware and free software to build customer services. We aim to get the maximum life possible out of hardware and often re-purpose servers. When sourcing new hardware we try to use the most ethical sources.
Computers are huge consumers of electricity. Webarchitects have gone to great lengths to make sure all our hosting is powered by renewables.
The money for the electricity used by our UK servers and our Sheffield office goes to Good Energy.
Some of our hardware has been made in Sheffield by Very PC. Our newest systems have the lowest power usage CPUs available, and much of our hardware has been upgraded and repurposed over the years to ensure that we get the maximium service life from the resource rich investment that goes into the production of IT hardware.
